About Ramor Watersports Club

Ramor Watersports Club was founded in August 2009; 

Our club is located at the Marina attached to the grounds of the Lakeside Manor Hotel, Dublin Road, Virginia, Co. Cavan, A82 YH30 Ireland.

RWC consists of a  cross section of watersports enthusiasts to include Sailing, Fishing, Waterskiing, Windsurfing, Wakeboarding, Canoeing and Swimming. 

We have a current membership of over 40 and we welcome ideas for the further development of the club; 

Ramor Watersports Club fully support and endorse the Cavan Co Council ( Watercraft ) Byelaws 2008 Governing Lough Ramor.

• Objectives:

a) Safe & Responsible use of water by all watersports participants, with mutual respect for all other disciplines Sailing, Fishing, and Waterskiing, Windsurfing, Wave boarding, canoeing and Swimming, Rowing,

b) To encourage activity in all disciplines RWC club members participate.

c) To grow our membership from all watersports enthusiasts, with the lake use regulated for the benefit and enjoyment of everyone.

d) To work with other clubs / groups to support / promote safe enjoyment of the fantastic amenity that is Lough Ramor.

e) To improve the facilities available on Lough Ramor, for all watersports.

f) Restore the Regatta to Lough Ramor.

 Watersports activity is nothing new on Lough Ramor; The Virginia Regatta and Aquatic Sports, as reported in the Anglo Celt, in July 1846 was held under the patronage of the then Marquis of Headfort. A two day festival, the highlight of which was a challenge cup Rowing Race with a purse of 30 guineas, ( equivalent to perhaps €300,000 today !).

Ramor Watersports Club is affiliated to the Irish Sailing.

 The Irish Sailing Association (Irish Sailing) SA is the Governing Body for Sailing, Windsurfing and Power Boating in Ireland.

Ramor Water Sports Club fully endorses Irish Sailing's moto "Sport for All, Sport for Life".  

Ramor Watersports Club is a proud member of Cavan Sports Partnership.
